Pushkar Singh Dhami to take oath as Chief Minister of Uttarakhand tomorrow

Putting an end to several speculations, Pushkar Singh Dhami replaces Triath Singh Rawat as the 11th Chief Minister of Uttarakhand. He is a two-time MLA from the Kumaon region of Khatima Constituency.  The Chief Minister will take the oath on Sunday at 5 pm.

In a meeting that took place at the BJP headquarter, the BJP legislator party declared his name as the next Chief Minister of Uttarakhand. Pushkar Singh Dhami is a young leader who has also served as the president of the BJP youth wing in the state.

Mr. Trinath Singh Rawat, the former Chief Minister of Uttarakhand, following his resignation confidently voiced that the BJP will win the upcoming 2022 election. This comment came before the party held its meeting at 3 pm.

Harish Rawat, veteran Congress leader on Friday claimed that Trinath Singh Rawat’s resignation as the state’s Chief Minister is on the grounds of constitutional compulsion and that the byelection cannot take place considering the existing pandemic is the biggest lie.  On his official Twitter handle, he wrote, ” What can be a bigger lie than this that byelection cannot be held in Uttarakhand due to COVID and the Chief Minister is resigning due to constitutional compulsion.

Pushkar Singh Dhami becomes the 3rd chief Minister in the past four months. After being elected, he expressed, ” I want to thank the party, our leaders especially PM Modi.” He further said that this will be a huge challenge for him. He further asserted that he will continue to work for the party and fulfill all his promises. “I will continue to carry forward my party’s good work”, he added.
