Radhika Madan, who made a successful transition from television to Bollywood, recently looked back at the unusual experience of her very first audition. During a candid conversation with Farah Khan for a vlog shoot at her home, Radhika shared that she was first spotted on Facebook and invited for an audition through a direct message. However, the location seemed suspicious to her.
At the time, Radhika used to watch a lot of crime shows, especially Crime Patrol, which made her extra cautious. Concerned about her safety, she decided to take two of her friends along and all three of them carried hockey sticks. Recalling the incident, she revealed that in Delhi, unexpected scuffles aren’t rare, so they wanted to be prepared.
Radhika had even told her friends to follow her inside after a while, joking that if anything went wrong, they might end up making headlines in the next day’s newspapers. But when she stepped in, she discovered that an actual television audition was taking place. Feeling a bit awkward, she was about to leave when her name was called out for the audition.
That audition turned out to be for the popular TV show Meri Aashiqui Tumse Hi, which later became her debut project and ran from 2014 to 2016. The show, co-starring Shakti Arora, was one of the top-rated programs on Colors and marked her entry into the entertainment industry.
After television, Radhika went on to act in the international series Cinta di Pangkuan Himalaya and participated in Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 8. Her film debut came with Vishal Bhardwaj’s Pataakha, followed by notable roles in Angrezi Medium alongside Irrfan Khan, Shiddat, Kuttey, and Sarfira.
She will next be seen in Subedaar, an action thriller directed by Suresh Triveni.
The film also stars Anil Kapoor in the lead role and is currently under production. The release date is yet to be announced.
