Raghav Juyal, who is currently basking in praise for his performance in Aryan Khan’s directorial debut The Ba***ds of Bollywood, recently shared that he was initially reluctant to take up the project. Speaking on Ranveer Allahbadia’s podcast, Raghav admitted that he was skeptical about his character, which seemed underdeveloped compared to others. However, one meeting with Aryan Khan at Mannat completely changed his perspective.
The actor recalled, “Pehle toh main sceptical tha show ko karne ke liye. Maine Aryan se baat kari, baki sab ke liye likhua tha papa-mummy-backstory, par mera kuch tha nahi. Maine Kill bhi karke aya tha jisma main almost lead hi tha. Toh maine bola ki mere liye kuch hai nahi karne ke liye.” Raghav said that Aryan then invited him to Mannat, and that experience turned out to be life-changing.
Sharing the emotional turning point, he added, “That was an unreal experience… bahar se sirf main dekhta tha… aur main ye bolne ja raha tha ki nahi karni he show. Par Aryan ne mujhe bola that this character is his favourite in the whole series and that he has full faith in me. He said, ‘Hum dono isko banayenge.’ That night itself, I said done.”
Raghav further revealed that Aryan’s conviction and clarity about the role gave him the confidence to explore his character deeply. The actor’s portrayal of Parvaiz in the Netflix show has since become one of the most appreciated performances, with several of his scenes going viral online.
