Raj and DK confirm new antagonist Rukma as The Family Man season 3’s biggest twist

Raj and DK have officially lifted the curtain on The Family Man season 3, revealing a fresh setting, a bigger threat and a powerful new opponent who pushes Srikant Tiwari into his most challenging mission yet.

The wait for The Family Man season 3 has finally paid off, with Raj and DK breaking down what fans can expect from the long-awaited new chapter. According to the creators, this season does not continue the story in a straight line but resets its tone and scale. Srikant Tiwari, played by Manoj Bajpayee, is thrown into a conflict that endangers both the nation and his already complicated personal life.

One of the biggest changes begins with geography. Raj and DK explained that the series is moving to India’s Northeast, a shift that was planned immediately after season 2 wrapped. They wanted the culture, struggles and energy of states like Nagaland and Arunachal Pradesh to become the emotional engine of the story, not just a pretty backdrop. The land itself, they said, shapes the tension and urgency of the season.

The other major revelation is the introduction of a new antagonist: Jaideep Ahlawat’s character, Rukma. Raj shared that Rukma “became the main character, the main antagonist,” someone almost designed as Srikant’s mirror image. He has a girlfriend and a child, forming what the creators call a “non-family family,” a contrast that hits harder when viewed against Srikant’s chaotic home life.

Despite the new direction, Raj and DK assured that the essence of the show remains. Srikant still juggles secret missions while pretending to live a simple middle-class life. JK returns with his sharp humour, and Priyamani’s Suchitra steps back into the familiar family dynamic, ensuring the emotional conflicts stay grounded.
