JioStudios published Raja Shivaji’s teaser on Tuesday evening. JioStudios posted a two-minute trailer on its YouTube page, offering viewers their first glimpse at the characters in the historical action drama.
In the video, Abhishek Bachchan’s Sambhaji Shahaji Bhosale and Riteish Deshmukh’s Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj battle Sanjay Dutt’s Afzal Khan for’swaraj (self-rule)’. The teaser also included Vidya Balan, Genelia Deshmukh, Mahesh Manjrekar, Sachin Khedekar, Boman Irani, Bhagyashree, Fardeen Khan, and Amol Gupte.
The video depicts the Marathas during a difficult period in Indian history. Riteish is directing the historical drama, which is set to open in theaters globally on May 1. The project brings together well-known individuals in the film industry. Ajay-Atul composed the soundtrack, and filmmaker Santosh Sivan handled the cinematography.
Jio Studios presents the film, which is produced by Jyoti Deshpande and Genelia Deshmukh under the Mumbai Film Company label. The film is being produced in Marathi, Telugu, and Hindi and is intended at audiences throughout India.
Raja Shivaji depicts the account of Shivaji Maharaj’s early life, emphasizing on his oath to construct Swarajya and the Maratha warrior king’s resistance to the mighty rulers of the time. The film depicts him not only as a monarch, but also as a son and leader who chose courage over fear. The first look poster for the upcoming historical film was unveiled in February of this year to coincide with Shivaji Jayanti.
