Rakul Preet Singh says spine injury left her bedridden for 40 days; reveals she shot parts of De De Pyaar De 2 on a physio bed

Rakul Preet Singh has spoken about one of the most physically and emotionally demanding phases of her career, a spine injury that nearly halted her ability to walk. During a conversation with Team Varinder Chawla, the actor revealed that she injured her back during a workout session shortly after completing about 50 per cent of De De Pyaar De 2.

The injury was so severe that Rakul was confined to her bed for 40 days. “I was like a vegetable,” she said, recalling how she didn’t know when she would stand or walk again. Production on the film stopped for almost three months while she underwent treatment and focused on recovery.

Returning to the set didn’t make things easier. Rakul said that she was unable to sit on a normal chair for long and ended up shooting several scenes lying on a physio bed, something audiences will never notice once the film releases. Regaining full strength took almost a year.

Amid her health struggles, Rakul faced another shock, an impersonator contacting people while pretending to be her. She shared that her manager discovered suspicious conversations and alerted her. The impersonator even reached out to photographers she had worked with earlier. Rakul joins actors like Shriya Saran and Aditi Rao Hydari, who also flagged similar online impersonation incidents recently.
