Superhero drama Mirai, starring Teja Sajja and Manchu Manoj, released in theatres last Friday and has quickly made its mark at the box office. Directed by Karthik Gattamneni, the film has earned over ₹55 crore worldwide within its first two days, with audiences praising its stirring visuals, strong script, and high-quality VFX.
Filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma has now joined the chorus of appreciation with a detailed post on X. He noted that the film’s VFX “felt grander than even those so-called ₹400 crore films.” Praising Manoj’s villainous turn, RGV admitted that he had initially thought the actor was miscast but later found his portrayal “terrific.” Teja Sajja too received applause, with RGV writing that while he had believed the actor looked too young for such a large-scale action film, he was “double wrong” after watching his performance.
According to RGV, the movie’s visuals, background score, and screenplay structure created a supremely immersive experience. He highlighted the interval sequence, devotional undertones, and emotional core, pointing out that family, duty, love, and betrayal were kept at the forefront despite the swords, spells, and supernatural threats.
The director also praised Karthik Gattamneni for his creative vision, describing the film as “myth sprinkled in visual colour mixed with heroism” and commending the narrative originality. Producer TG Vishwa Prasad, he said, had proven that passion and risk-taking outweighed industry warnings, showing that “fortune favours the brave.”
Concluding his note, RGV remarked that
Mirai was not a small film pretending to be big, but rather a big film that humbly let audiences celebrate it. Calling the action sequences “rituals” and some shots “hymns,” he added that a film team’s job was not just about profit but about creating lifelong memories.
Mirai tells the story of Vedha, a young man destined to become a super Yodha and fight against evil. With its ending setting the stage for a sequel, the film also features Ritika Nayak and Jagapathi Babu in pivotal roles.
