Ramesh Powar replaces WV Raman to become the new coach of Indian women’s cricket team

Ramesh Power was re-appointed as the head coach of the Women’s team by the BCCI and Cricket Advisory Committee after conducting an interview of 35 applicants for the desired role

Romash Powar has been appointed as the new head coach of the Indian women’s cricket team taking over the position from WV Raman. The BCCI underwent 35 application for the required position, to which the trio Sulakshana Naik, Madan Lal, and Rudra Pratap Singh of the Cricket Advisory Committee  (CAC) conducted an interview session of all the applicants. The Board finally came to a mutual decision of reappointing Powar as the head coach.

Powar will be guiding the women’s team in the upcoming Test and limited-overs tour of England. Earlier in 2018, Powar has already lead the women’s team as the head coach. He successfully guided the team and went on to reach the semifinals of the ICC Women’s T20I World Cup including a streak of 14 victories in T20 international matches.

The newly re-assigned coach will now handle the team in the upcoming one Test match against England starting from June 16 followed by three ODIs and T20s respectively.
