Farhan Akhtar’s much-anticipated film Don 3 is finally back on track after facing multiple delays and months of speculation. The action thriller, which marks Ranveer Singh’s entry into the iconic Don franchise, is now preparing to begin its first shooting schedule early next year.
The third instalment of Don was announced in August 2023, followed by a teaser that confirmed Ranveer Singh as the new Don, stepping into the role previously portrayed by Shah Rukh Khan. The announcement created massive buzz, but the film soon ran into scheduling issues due to Farhan Akhtar’s prior commitments, pushing the project further down the timeline.
Uncertainty around the film increased after reports suggested that Vikrant Massey had exited the project as the antagonist. This development sparked rumours that Don 3 might have been shelved altogether. However, as per the reports of News18, the makers have now locked their plans and are moving ahead without further delay.
According to the report, Ranveer Singh has already begun preparing for demanding action sequences, with the production keen to start filming as soon as possible. The first schedule is expected to commence between late January and early February next year.
The report also revealed that Kriti Sanon will play a significant role in the film and will be seen performing action scenes, much like Priyanka Chopra Jonas’ character Roma in the earlier Don films. Portions of the first schedule are reportedly planned to be shot in Jeddah, signalling a large-scale and ambitious start to the franchise’s next chapter.
