Ranveer Singh turned storyteller at the star-studded sangeet ceremony of US billionaire Padmaja and Rama Raju Mantena’s daughter, Netra Mantena, held on November 21. The actor not only performed at the celebration but also delighted guests with a heartfelt memory from his early days with wife Deepika Padukone.
In a video from the event that is now circulating on X, Ranveer is seen addressing the crowd with a wide smile as he recalls how Udaipur became the backdrop of one of Bollywood’s most cherished love stories. Holding the microphone, he said, “Udaipur is like a lucky charm for love stories. I shot Ramleela here. Have you seen it?” As guests cheered, he continued, “It was on the long Udaipur schedule of Ramleela that our love story blossomed. I was starring opposite your bhabi.”
Ranveer and Deepika first met on the sets of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Goliyon Ki Rasleela: Ram Leela, released in 2013. The film turned into a major box-office success and marked the beginning of a partnership that extended into Bajirao Mastani, Padmaavat, and 83. Their off-screen romance eventually led to a fairytale wedding on November 14, 2018, at Lake Como in Italy.
The couple kept their wedding visuals private for years, releasing the much-awaited wedding video only in 2023 during the premiere of Koffee with Karan Season 8 on Disney+ Hotstar.
