Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge targets ₹75 Crore on opening day

Dhurandhar: The Revenge is expected to gross more than Rs. 70 crore nett in India on its launch day on Thursday. This final sum should be more or less than Rs. 75 crore nett when the actuals arrive tomorrow morning. Combined with an estimated Rs. 39 crore nett from paid previews last evening, the grand opening day is likely to be in excess of Rs. 110 crore nett. It is the greatest opening day ever for a Bollywood film, even without previews, exceeding Jawan’s nett of Rs. 64.50 crore.

The film performed best in Mumbai (excluding Gujarat), Delhi, East Punjab, and the South Indian circuit. The Central and Eastern circuits are also outstanding, albeit at a lower level, with many missing the record numbers, but keep in mind that TODAY IS NOT A NATIONAL HOLIDAY. It is a mid-week Thursday, non-holiday release, with a significant portion of demand being eaten in previews. It was a holiday in Maharashtra and the southern states, but even so, these were the standouts in the first picture and have continued to be so this time around, whether on opening day or at screenings yesterday.

The original Dhurandhar earned around Rs. 70 crore nett in the circuit. This one grossed close to Rs. 15 crore nett on its first day, with the majority of that coming from Bengaluru. By the end of the extended weekend, it would have earned around Rs. 40 crore nett, which just one other film has done in its whole run. With almost Rs. 110 crore nett in the bank, the attention is now on where the weekend can take place.
