Manchester United defender Raphael Varane is said to be ‘disillusioned’ with life at Old Trafford after sliding down the pecking order under current boss Erik ten Hag.
Varane has suffered from injuries and form, and a lack of playing time has caused frustration, which might lead to the 2018 World Cup winner leaving Manchester United at the end of the current season.
Al-Nassr, a Saudi Pro League club, is reported to be interested in the 30-year-old and is reportedly ready to offer him a £50 million year deal to be reunited with Cristiano Ronaldo.
Varane and Ronaldo were teammates at Real Madrid and Manchester United, and if the Frenchman accepts the contract, they will play for a third club together. As per Daily Star, Varane’s contract, which expires after the current season, has a 12-month extension option that Manchester United will not use.
Varane joined Man United from Real Madrid in 2021 on a £340,000-a-week contract, making him their highest-paid player.
Meanwhile, Manchester United is 6th in the Premier League, with a total of 38 points from 23 games so far. Liverpool now leads the points table, with Manchester City, Arsenal and Aston Villa completing the top four.
