RBI orders HDFC to stop issuing new credit cards

The RBI has directed India’s largest private lender HDFC to pause issuing new credit cards to its customers and also hault new digital businesses. This action came to effect after a significant rise in the number of outages of its online services from two years, the latest one being November 21. The Central Bank’s order will not affect the current credit card holders or digital banking, specified HDFC.
