Kroos was recently booed by the crowd in Riyadh during his match for Real Madrid in the Spanish Super Cup final against Atletico Madrid, which Real won.
Kroos recently stated during a news conference ahead of Real Madrid’s UEFA Champions League match against RB Leipzig that he is confident in his prior statements. “For me it was a confirmation that I said everything right in the interviews,” he said on Monday.

🗣️ Toni Kroos: "No, para mí ha sido la confirmación que he dicho lo correcto."

The German midfielder has expressed his concerns about the same thing previously. Kroos has been extremely vocal about his dislike for the Saudi League and the players who choose to play there.
In a 2023 interview with Sports Illustrated, the German said that the country’s human rights status was “the one thing that would stop me from making such a change”. He added, “People say they play ambitious football there, but it’s all about the money.”
He also said, “It’s a decision for the money and against football, and from there things start to get difficult for the football we know and love.”
Despite strong criticism from the international community, the Saudi Pro League still attracts top European players.
