The premiere of Sriram Raghavan’s war drama Ikkis took place in Mumbai on Monday evening, with numerous Bollywood superstars in attendance. Among them was veteran performer Rekha, who appeared on the red carpet dressed stylishly in a gold saree. More than her attractiveness, viewers were drawn to her devotion for the film’s principal actor, Agastya Nanda.
The 25-year-old is the grandson of Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan. Paparazzi footage on the red carpet shows Rekha pausing to look at a poster of the late actor Dharmendra, then standing in deep reverence for a few moments with folded hands and a bowed head.
After that, she walked on to Agastya’s photo on the poster, tenderly resting her hand on his face before blowing a flying kiss as a blessing. Ikkis is a biopic on the life and death of Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal, the youngest recipient of the Param Vir Chakra. In the film, Agastya plays the war hero, while the late Dharmendra makes his final appearance as his father.
The film also features Jaideep Ahlawat, Suhasini Mulay, Sikander Kher, and Rahul Dev. It will be available on January 1, 2026. Ikkis was originally scheduled to be released around Christmas, but it was moved out to the New Year due to Dhurandhar’s record-breaking box office performance. Dinesh Vijan, the film’s producer, agreed that Ikkis required room at the ticket window.
