 
									Reliance Jio launched its Jio Bharat phone in attempt to reduce the bridge between mobile subscribers who do not have access to internet. Jio, which is a telecom arm of conglomerate Reliance, emphasised that more than 250 million mobile users are still deprived of internet, which more than a necessity in today’s world. The company has targeted mainly rural areas to push in its products.
The Jio Bharat phone is priced at Rs 999 and the users will need a Jio sim card for the internet enable phone with 4G network.

- Phone comes with 28-days plan for Rs 123. It includes 14 GB of data (0.5 GB per day). Users can avail unlimited voice calls.
- 28-days plan is also 30 per cent cheaper as compared to offerings by other competitors. It also provides seven times more data.
- The phone also has an annual plan of Rs 1,234, wherein the users can avail unlimited voice calls and 168 GB of data (0.5 GB per day).
- The yearly plan is 25 per cent cheaper than offerings by other competitors. It also provides seven times more data.
Jio has also launched Jio Bharat platform, which will enable other headset manufacturers to build Jio Bharat phone. Apart from Reliance Retail, Karbonn has become the first brand to adopt this platform.
