RG Kar Case: A Video of the seminar hall of RG Kar Medical College circulates all over the internet

A video showing the seminar hall of the Kolkata hospital, taken hours after the August 9 rape-murder, has raised questions about the Kolkata Police’s crime scene preservation procedures. The footage, which has been widely disseminated online, appears to support CBI suspicions that the murder scene was polluted.

After a day of speculation, the police reacted by saying they had cordoned off the appropriate section of the hall. The police have also stated that correct processes were used to preserve evidence and conduct a thorough investigation.

The young doctor’s partially clothed body was discovered hours earlier, and it appears that a portion of the lecture hall is visible in the footage. But rather it being a barren, empty space, it was crowded with people. According to reports, the 43-second video from August 9 featured a number of persons connected to then-principal Sandip Ghosh, including his lawyer.

Amid the crowd were law enforcement officers. Following a day of speculation, the police finally replied, declaring that they had blocked off the pertinent area of the hall. Additionally, the police have guaranteed that all protocols were adhered to in order to safeguard evidence and guarantee a comprehensive investigation.

A police spokesperson said, “A video has gone viral showing the place of occurrence. This is a clarification. The body found in the seminar hall was in one portion of the seminar hall. 40 feet of the room was cordoned off.

The video is outside the cordoned off area where family members, doctors and the police were present”. Police officers said the entire seminar hall is 51 feet x 32 feet, of which 40 feet x 11 feet was cordoned off. Only the 11-feet portion is shown in the viral video.
