Anup Dutta is thought to be a close friend of former principal Dr. Sandip Ghosh. He is also suspected of helping Sanjay Roy, the main accused. In order to administer a polygraph test to Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Anup Dutta of the Kolkata Police, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has requested authorisation from a court in Kolkata. The test will be carried out upon his agreement, according to the CBI.
Investigating whether Anup Dutta assisted Sanjay Roy, the primary accused, in covering up the August 9 rape and murder of the 31-year-old woman postgraduate trainee doctor within RG Kar Medical College and Hospital in Kolkata is the central agency’s goal. The former principal of RG Kar Medical College and Hospital, Sandip Ghosh, is the subject of a CBI investigation into allegations of rape, murder, and financial irregularities.
Anup Dutta is believed to have been a close associate of Dr Sandip Ghosh during his time at the medical institution. He has been on the CBI’s radar since he was seen with Ghosh in images posted on social media. The ASI has been accused of assisting the main accused, Sanjay Roy, in gaining access to police quarters and a police motorbike, despite the fact that he is not eligible for such benefits as a police civic volunteer.
Anup Dutta is also a member of the Kolkata Police Welfare Committee, to which Sanjay Roy was assigned to visit police officers and their families confined to various hospitals. Investigators believe that this access was the primary reason Sanjay Roy was able to enter the premises, but they are looking into how he was able to enter the third-floor lecture hall, where the victim’s body was discovered. Outsiders are not permitted to access any hospital ward during such hours.
Meanwhile, the CBI had conducted polygraph tests on Sandip Ghosh. He also underwent the Layered Voice Analysis test. It detects the subject’s reaction to a disinformation but does not recognise it. The technique detected stress, cognitive processes, and emotional indicators in various speech characteristics.
