Actor Rhea Chakraborty has finally opened up about the emotional toll the past five years have taken on her and how she found strength through gratitude, spirituality, and human connection. Following the tragic death of her ex-boyfriend Sushant Singh Rajput in 2020, Rhea faced intense public backlash, media trials, and even a period in jail. Recently, she received a clean chit from the CBI in the case, though the decision was opposed by Sushant’s family.
The actor revealed that the difficult years left her struggling with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Yet, she believes her ordeal also created a unique bond with people who have faced their own challenges. “My experiences were so public that many people felt comfortable opening up to me. They believed I understood mental health issues,” she said, adding that even close friends began sharing their personal struggles with her after seeing her journey.
Rhea shared that gratitude became a big part of her healing. “Even when I felt I had nothing to be thankful for, I reminded myself that I could walk, see, and function. That was enough,” she said. Her faith in Hanuman Chalisa also became a daily practice that helped her find peace.
The actor now channels her experiences into her podcast, where she encourages open conversations. “Sharing is powerful. People just want to be understood. Finding a community that truly listens helps us heal,” she expressed.
