On August 25, the highly anticipated movie Girls Will Be Girls, produced by the hustler duo of Ali Fazal and Richa Chadha will wrap up the 15th Indian Film Festival of Melbourne( IFFM) 2024. The biggest celebration of Indian cinema outside of India, IFFM is set to mark its 15th year, with extravagant festivities taking place from August 15 – 25.

Girls Will Be Girls has had a huge impact on the worldwide film festival scene. The film had its worldwide premiere at the Sundance International Film Festival, where it got amazing reviews for its creative storytelling and outstanding performances, as well as two top awards. Since its world premiere in January, the picture has been making a splash, having screened at Cannes, Sundance London, and indeed won the grand jury prizes at Transylvania International picture Festival in Romania, Biarritz Film Festival in France, and IFFLA in Los Angeles.

This movie, which was directed by Shuchi Talati, has won awards at major film festivals, including Sundance Film Festival, where it had its global premiere and was played under Cannes Écrans Juniors.

According to the makers, The context of “Girls Will Be Girls” is a boarding academy in a small northern Indian city hidden in the Himalayas. It follows the journey of 16 years old Mira, whose unfulfilled coming- of- age wishes are connected with her mother’s rebellious awakening. Preeti Panagrahi and Kani Kusruti play the crucial places. Girls Will Be Girls is an Indo- Frenchco-production by Pushing Buttons Workrooms, Blink Digital, Crawling Angel flicks, and Dolce Vita flicks. It also features Jitin Gulati and Kesav Binoy Kiron.
