The much-discussed video of Riddhima Kapoor Sahni, her mother Neetu Kapoor, and daughter Samara from Aadar Jain and Alekha Advani’s wedding earlier this year has been the subject of online chatter. In the clip, which surfaced in February from the star-studded Mumbai wedding, Samara appeared to gesture away from her grandmother, sparking rumours that she might have been upset and even pushed Neetu aside.
Now, Riddhima has responded to the viral moment during a candid conversation with filmmaker Farah Khan on her vlog. Joined by Samara at her Delhi home, Riddhima set the record straight, explaining her daughter’s tendency to pose seriously for cameras. She shared, “Samara ka kya hai na, ki, ‘Main agar camera mein dekhungi, toh I am just going to give like a blue steel look.’ So, I told her that it looks like you are angry.”
Samara also joined in the discussion and expressed her take on the clip, saying that people had misread her expression. “Let a girl have a resting face. It’s not a problem. It’s just a resting face,” she said confidently. Adding further, she remarked, “Yeah, smiling is good. I mean… normalise having a resting face.”
During the vlog, Riddhima playfully encouraged her daughter to smile more, telling her that she has a “pretty smile.” Farah also made a quick video call to Neetu Kapoor as they shot the episode, tying the conversation back to the viral moment that had left social media buzzing. The clarification comes as Riddhima prepares for her Bollywood debut, but for now, it is Samara’s witty defence of her expression that has caught fans’ attention, finally putting speculation about the viral video to rest.
