Rishab Shetty, known for his versatile performances, is set to portray the legendary Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in an upcoming historical epic directed by Sandeep Singh. The actor recently shared his first look as the iconic warrior king, igniting excitement among fans. Speaking to Times of India, Rishab expressed his immense pride and honor in bringing Shivaji’s legacy to life on the big screen.
“Shivaji’s life and legacy have always fascinated me,” Rishab said. “Opportunities like this biopic come only once in a lifetime. It’s an honor to tell the story of such a great historical figure.” The actor further revealed that the film’s grand vision, presented by Sandeep Singh, convinced him to join the project instantly. “As soon as I heard the film, I said yes without hesitation. Shivaji’s impact transcends history, and I feel immense pride in sharing this story filled with drama, grandeur, and emotions,” he added.
The first-look poster, unveiled on Rishab’s X (formerly Twitter) account, announced the film’s theatrical release in January 2027. Calling it “a battle cry to honor a warrior,” Rishab described the movie as a tribute to Shivaji’s indomitable spirit and his fight against the Mughal empire.
In addition to this film, Rishab is set to star in Prasanth Varma’s Jai Hanuman and direct Kantara: Chapter 1, a prequel to his blockbuster Kantara.Fans eagerly await the actor’s next milestones.
