Rowllin Borges, the midfielder continues his contract more head with Mumbai City FC by three years and will still stay with the club till May 2024. The agreement signed by both parties includes a clause that Borges can opt to further extend his contract ahead a year more. He played an important role for Mumbai City FC to clinch the unique double in the 2020/21 season and helped the team in winning the ISL (Indian Super League) winners’ shield and the ISL trophy.
Also with 1124 goal passes Borges finished the season in the top three passers of the league list. He is currently in Doha with his national team for the 2022 Fifa World Cup and the AFC Asian Cup China 2023 qualifiers. The midfielder said in the statement that Mumbai City FC is his family and he is delighted to commit his future there. the previous two years of his career have been an incredible learning curve for him and especially the last season, it was nothing short of a dream for the whole team.
The head coach Sergio Lobera said that to win trophies that the team needs to have good Indian players and he thought Rowllin was the best in that position. Rowllin had consistently shown his quality and he had proved it again last season in difficult situations. He was a figure of inspiration for the teammates. It’s really good to have Rowllin around.
