The COVID-19 storm has struck a lot of cricketers themselves as well as their family. From young players like Varun Chakravarthy to the demise of former cricketer like Piyush Chawla’s father a couple of days before Singh’s father.
“It is with the deepest grief and sadness we inform the passing away of my father, Mr Shiv Prasad Singh. He left for his heavenly abode on 12th May after suffering from Covid. We request you to keep my beloved father in your thoughts and prayers. RIP Papa”, RP Singh tweeted.

RP Singh has been a crucial part of the Indian team, especially with his swing. He was a part of the 2007 T20 World Cup under the captaincy of MS Dhoni, claiming victory in the inaugural edition of the tournament in South Africa. Singh is currently a member of the BCCI’s Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC) which appoints coaches and selectors for the national men’s and women’s teams.
