In light of the replacement-level birth rate of 2.1 children per woman, RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat has stated that every Indian couple should have three children. In response to enquiries about population management and demographic shifts at a news conference on Thursday, Mr. Bhagwat stated that specialists believe that communities with a birth rate below three gradually become extinct.
Therefore, he stated that a birth rate of more than three should be maintained, noting that this occurs in every nation. “I’ve been informed by doctors that having three children and getting married at the appropriate age guarantees the health of the parents and kids. Children raised in three-sibling households also learn how to control their egos, and their future family life is unaffected. Doctors have stated this… The average birth rate in our nation is 2.1, which is acceptable, but you can never have 0.1 children. When it comes to births, it must be three after two, but in maths, 2.1 becomes two”, the RSS chairman stated.
In the interest of the country, he urged, every Indian couple should attempt to have three children. “There is also cause for caution. Both benefits and drawbacks can result from population growth. At the end of the day, you have to feed everyone. The population policy is in place for this reason. Every family should therefore have three children, but no more, in order to maintain population control and sufficiency alike. This is to guarantee that they are being raised properly.”
“Everyone should accept this,” he emphasised. According to Mr. Bhagwat, the birth rate is down for all communities, but it is particularly noticeable for Hindus as it has traditionally been low. It was higher in another but is currently declining. “This is nature’s way, when resources decrease and populations rise, it happens.” He stated.
The RSS chief expressed alarm about demographic change, stating that conversion is a major cause of population imbalance. “The reason we are worried about demography is that it has certain repercussions. One result is the division of the nation. I’m not just referring to India here. Every nation is concerned about demographic imbalance since intent is more likely to cause suspicion than population.
Conversion, which is not a part of Indian customs, is one of the main reasons for the population imbalance. According to both Christians and Muslims, conversion is bad, thus it shouldn’t occur,” Mr. Bhagwat stated.
According to Mr. Bhagwat, infiltration is another factor that might lead to an imbalance and must be managed. “We share the same DNA. Although several nations in Europe share heritage, each nation has its own boundaries. If the DNA is the same, why don’t people get permission to come? You wonder if it’s a good idea to stop illegal migration.
And if they don’t have authorisation, they shouldn’t come. Rules and laws cannot be disregarded when entering a nation. He noted that issues arise when people come illegally. According to Mr. Bhagwat, the government can partially prevent infiltration, but citizens can also assist by refusing to hire infiltrators.
“We ought to hire domestic workers. There are Muslims in our nation as well, and they also require work. Instead of hiring people from other nations, hire Muslims if you want to. If people find work through the legal system, that’s acceptable,” he continued.
