Fans of the X-Men franchise are eagerly awaiting a new movie reboot, with casting suggestions already circulating among die-hard fans. One name that has come up in the discussions is Sadie Sink, who is being fan-cast as Jean Grey. Joseph Quinn, who is no stranger to the spotlight himself, recently addressed this buzz and expressed his support for Sink in the role.
For context, Sadie Sink and Joseph Quinn are both known for their roles in Netflix’s Stranger Things, which has earned them both a strong fan following. During an appearance at MEGACON in Orlando, Quinn—who will soon be seen as the Human Torch in Marvel’s upcoming Fantastic Four film—shared his thoughts on the potential casting of Sink as Jean Grey, calling it “brilliant.”
But he didn’t stop there. He also suggested that another Stranger Things co-star, Charlie Heaton (who plays Jonathan Byers on the show), would be a great fit to portray Logan, aka Wolverine, in the new X-Men film. Quinn said, “Maybe Charlie [Heaton] as Wolverine,” adding another layer to fans’ casting dreams.
Jean Grey, one of the most iconic mutants in the X-Men universe, has been played by several actresses in the past. Famke Janssen portrayed her in the earlier X-Men films, and Sophie Turner took over the role in the prequels X-Men: Apocalypse and Dark Phoenix. Jean’s transformation into the powerful Phoenix (and later Dark Phoenix) has been a key plotline, making her one of the franchise’s most important characters.
As for Wolverine, the character is currently being portrayed by Hugh Jackman, who was recently seen reprising his role in Deadpool 3. His performance has sparked rumors about him returning for more appearances, including in Avengers: Secret Wars. While nothing is officially confirmed, fans are hopeful that Jackman will return to the role, bringing his iconic, violent Wolverine back to the big screen.
