“I wish him a speedy recovery. I heard that he suffered chest pain and underwent angioplasty, but by God’s grace, he is fine now,” she said. She then emphasized, “I would like to clarify that we are still husband and wife. We have only separated because I was not keeping well, and I did not want to burden him. Please do not refer to me as his ex-wife.”
Rahman and Saira announced their separation in November last year after 29 years of marriage. At that time, they shared a statement saying their decision was due to emotional difficulties in their relationship. However, no legal divorce has taken place. The couple married in 1995 and have three children Khatija, Raheema, and Ameen.
With Rahman’s recent hospitalization due to dehydration, Saira’s statement has also served as a reminder that their bond remains intact despite their separation.
