When Saiyaara released, newcomers Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda instantly became the nation’s latest heartthrobs. Directed by Mohit Suri and backed by Yash Raj Films, the romantic drama won hearts across India.
Interestingly, unlike other big releases, the lead pair did not go on an extensive promotional spree. Instead, the makers let the film and the performances do the talking. The strategy worked, and audiences soon couldn’t get enough of the fresh on-screen duo.
In their first interview since the film’s release, Ahaan reflected on the joy of having his work take center stage. “One thing that made me very happy is that very rarely as an artiste does your work speak first… for the first time, in a long time has a film come first, and as an artiste that’s the best thing you could ask for,” he shared. Fans were quick to fall in love with his portrayal of Krish Kapoor, even revisiting his old videos on social media, making him an instant sensation.
Aneet, meanwhile, recalled a touching moment that happened before she even bagged the role. “When I was auditioning for Saiyaara, Ahaan had taken me to Mount Mary Church and we’d lit a candle. I asked him what he wished for, and he turned it back on me. A week later, when I got the call, he said, ‘Of course, I’d wished that you’d get the role!’” she revealed. With their debut film already a blockbuster, Ahaan and Aneet are now enjoying the spotlight as Bollywood’s most promising fresh faces.
