Sam Asghari defends ex Britney Spears against Donald Trump Jr.’s online bullying

Britney Spears’ ex-husband, Sam Asghari, has spoken out against Donald Trump Jr.’s attempt to mock the Grammy-winning singer. Asghari condemned the bullying actions and especially tagged Trump Jr., adding that such activities are unacceptable. “It’s not okay to be a bully @donaldjtrumpjr” Asghari posted in an Instagram Story that has since been deleted.

Donald Trump Jr. posted a Britney Spears meme, which featured a photograph of her from her younger days captioned with “America Under Trump.” Next to it, he shared another photo of the singer  holding a pair of butchers’ blades, accompanied by the caption “America Under Biden.” While the post received over 194,000 likes, it also sparked a response from those who supported Asghari and condemned Trump Jr.’s perceived bullying.

This incident comes after recent concerns for Britney Spears’ health, as police were asked to perform a welfare check on the pop singer after she shared a video of herself dancing with the aforementioned knives, which alarmed her fans. Spears clarified that the blades were props and expressed her frustration at the exaggerated reactions to the video.

Britney Spears and Sam Asghari started dating in 2016 after they met on the set of her music video Slumber Party. They got married on June 9, 2022, in California, after 6 years together. Spears took precautions before their marriage by signing a prenuptial agreement to protect her assets. After just over a year of marriage, the couple filed for divorce in August 2023.
