Sam Worthington of ‘Avatar’ fame to star in crime thriller directed by Matt Nable

The movie tells the story of a former Special Forces operative who lands in a criminal underworld and tries to keep his son from being hunted down and abducted by criminals

Australian actor and writer, Sam Worthington, who is best known for playing the role of Jake Sully in the Avatar film series, as Marcus Wright in Terminator Salvation, and as Perseus in Clash of the Titans has signed on for a crime thriller movie that is titled Transfusion. The film will be helmed by actor and writer Matt Nable of the biker film Outlaws fame, which will also be his feature directorial debut. Reportedly, the production schedule for the movie has already begun in Sydney, Australia earlier this week.

The movie tells the story of a former Special Forces operative, played by Worthington, who finds himself in a criminal underworld, as he tries to keep his child from being abducted by evil forces and criminals. Actor Worthington will be joined by fellow Australian actor Phoebe Tonkin, who is best known for the role in The Vampire Diaries.

The movie is produced by John Schwarz and Michael Schwarz of the production house Deeper Water Films and will be executive produced by Cailah Scobie from Stan and Paul Wiegard from Madman Entertainment. They will be joined by Will Clarke, Andy Mayson, and Mike Runagall of Altitude Media who will also be executive producing the film.

The movie will be represented by Altitude Media Group at the upcoming Cannes Marche du Film, which is scheduled from June 21 to June 25. Transfusion will have a theatrical release in Australia and New Zealand with distribution from Madman Entertainment, following which there will be a premiere scheduled on streaming service Stan in the year 2022 in Australia.
