Joseph Prabu, Samantha Ruth Prabhu’s father, took his last breath today. The star used her Instagram Stories to update her fans. She wrote, “Until we meet again,” alongside a “heartbroken” emoji.
Joseph Prabu hardly ever appeared on Samanth’s socials, and it is unknown what caused his death. In an interview with HT, Samantha recently talked candidly about her “strained” relationship with her father. She discussed looking for his approval in a different interview with Galatta India.
“Growing up, I had to struggle to be accepted. My dad was like… The majority of Indian parents, I believe, are like that. They believe they are keeping you safe. In fact, he told me, ‘You’re not that smart.’ This is merely the norm for education in India. Because of this, even you can receive a first rank. I genuinely thought for a long time that I was not intelligent or good enough when you said it to a child.”
A year after Samantha and Naga Chaitanya had already broken up, Joseph posted photos from their wedding in 2022. Joseph Prabhu posted some of his wedding-related memories on Facebook. In some of the vintage pictures, Samantha and Chaitanya posed with their family and guests while Samantha wore a white gown and Chaitanya a black tuxedo.
Samantha Ruth Prabhu’s father captioned his photo, saying, “There was a story a long time ago. And it’s no longer there! Let’s begin a fresh story now. And a fresh chapter!”
