The Samsung Galaxy S25 Slim is expected to make its debut next year as the company’s thinnest flagship smartphone in years. A tipster has revealed information about the alleged phone’s features.
The device may be released in 2025’s second quarter, when the firm typically releases its Fan Edition (FE) and Galaxy A series smartphones. The Samsung Galaxy S25 Slim, which is also expected to launch next year, may be thicker than the iPhone 17 Air, according to a Chinese leaker.
Debayan Roy (@Gadgetsdata) revealed information on the Samsung Galaxy S25 Slim’s 6.6-inch screen on X (previously Twitter) on Friday. If this report is true, the business may be able to provide the phone the same display as the Galaxy S25+ model, which is anticipated to launch in January 2025 along with the regular Galaxy S25 and Galaxy S25 Ultra models.
Additionally, according to the informant, the Snapdragon 8 Elite CPU, which Qualcomm introduced in October, will power the Galaxy S25 Slim. Given its thin design, the Galaxy S25 Slim is also rumoured to have a sizable battery; some suggest that it may have a 4,700mAh to 5,000mAh capacity.
According to Roy’s post on X, the Galaxy S25 Slim model may include three rear cameras, in contrast to the iPhone 17 Air, which is expected to come with just one. The phone will have two 50-megapixel cameras with ISOCELL JN5 sensors for telephoto (3.5x optical zoom) and ultrawide shooting, as well as a 200-megapixel primary camera with an ISOCELL HP5 sensor.
In the meantime, tipster Ice Universe claims in a post on Weibo, the Chinese microblogging site, that the Samsung Galaxy S25 may have a thickness of less than 7mm (via GSMArena). Compared to the rumoured iPhone 17 Air, which is anticipated to debut in the second half of 2025, this is thicker.
According to Roy, Samsung may release the Galaxy S25 Slim in Q2 2025, which is also when it typically releases its Galaxy A series or Galaxy FE devices. According to reports, the firm is preparing to introduce the Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+, and Galaxy S24 Ultra’s replacements during a Galaxy Unpacked launch event the following month.
