Samsung wins two ‘Best of the Best’ honors at the Red Dot Design Award

Samsung Electronics announced today that it has received a total of 16 awards, including the prestigious Best of the Best honors for its OLED TV S95H and the Bespoke AI Laundry series, at the Red Dot Design Award. This recognition underscores Samsung’s leading design capabilities, particularly in line with its new “Expressive Design” strategy.

Mauro Porcini, President and Chief Design Officer of Samsung’s Device eXperience (DX) Division, explained that “Expressive Design” focuses on placing people at the center, celebrating individuality, emotions, and diversity. He emphasized that Samsung aims to create not just functional designs, but also meaningful connections that enrich lives through purposeful and human-centered experiences.

The Red Dot Design Award, established in 1955 by the German organization Design Zentrum Nordrhein Westfalen, is one of the world’s most respected design competitions. It honors excellence in three categories: Product Design, Design Concept, and Brands & Communication Design.

Two Best of the Best Award Winners Recognized for Design Innovation

The S95H OLED TV is notable for its unique FloatLayer design, which features an ultra-thin OLED display paired with a luxurious metal plate. This creates a layered effect where the slim screen appears to float over a bold metallic surface, enhancing the sense of immersion with vivid contrast and a minimalist silver metal frame that integrates seamlessly into interior spaces.

The Bespoke AI Laundry series features a mono-body design concept across various appliances, including standalone washing machines, dryers, and combos. This consistent design language allows the appliances to blend effortlessly into different interior settings. The Smart Screen, a large 7-inch LCD, enhances usability with an intuitive control experience and is integrated with SmartThings for easy management of connected devices, offering AI-powered lifestyle solutions for convenience.
