Sanjay Raut, the leader of the Shiv Sena, declared on Friday that he will avoid public life for the next two months because of some severe health problems. Raut, 63, stated that he is receiving treatment and will soon recover and return, without providing any other details.
Raut, a Rajya Sabha MP, is well-known for his frank criticism of the BJP-NDA administration and has been a vocal leader in Uddhav Thackeray’s party. According to people close to Raut, doctors have recommended him to rest because he had two angioplasties in 2019 and 2020, PTI said.
Raut shared on X, “As per medical advice, I have been instructed to avoid public appearances and gatherings for some time. I regret this deeply. I am confident that I will recover completely and, hopefully, meet you all again in the New Year.”
Sanjay Raut was wished good health and a swift recovery by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Raut stated that he hoped to be well again by the next year and that he was certain of a speedy recovery. As Uddhav’s Shiv Sena (UBT) prepares for local body elections in two months, Raut’s absence is viewed as a potential shock. Uddhav and Raj, two Thackeray cousins, had joined forces to run in the civic elections thanks in large part to Raut.
