The next chapter of the Kylian Mbappe transfer drama has resulted in a major stir in European football and the stakes have never been higher in terms of money. And, as of now, an element of Middle Eastern flavour has been added to the pot.
Kylian Mbappe is reportedly the subject of a 300 million euro bid from Al-Hilal, which would make him the most expensive player in history following Real Madrid’s ongoing pursuit to sign him.
When rumours of an extension surfaced, the star man indicated his determination to see out his existing contract.
In June, it was revealed that Mbappé had issued an official letter to PSG, advising them that he will decline the option of a one-year contract extension next summer. The club’s president, Nasser al-Khelaifi, stated the next month, saying: “If Kylian wants to stay, we want him to stay. But he needs to sign a new contract. We don’t want to lose the best player in the world for free; we can’t do that.”
To say the least, communication between Mbappe and PSG has been tough. And upon sensing this tension, a number of teams have been fighting to take French football’s crown jewel away from PSG in the current transfer window and add to their squad.
