Bayern Munich has reportedly agreed to pay £68 million for Atletico Madrid midfielder Saul Niguez this summer. The German champions are looking to enhance their squad for the upcoming season, and Niguez has been identified as the man to fill the midfield void left by Thiago Alcantara.
Saul will be an excellent addition to Bayern’s midfield department in terms of style. The Spaniard can play as a six, an eight, or a 10. Simeone has also deployed him on the flanks in some games. His passing is precise, and his work rate is remarkable, making him a well-rounded midfielder. Saul also fits the age profile of a midfielder that Rekordmeister should target this summer.
It appears that he will end up in Germany, as RadioMarca reports that ‘Saul has closed his exit to Bayern for 80 million euros.’ They also believe that Udinese midfielder De Paul would cost Atletico 40 million euros if he were to replace Niguez. The 27-year-old has been a standout for the Serie A club in recent years, assisting 18 goals in 36 league games.
He is also a key target for Leeds United, has piqued the interest of some of Europe’s top clubs. Milan is also allegedly interested in acquiring Paul, who has put in some strong performances this season.
