Schitt’s Creek Actress Sarah Levi Reveals Heartbreaking Details on Losing Home

Sarah Levy is heartbroken after losing her home to the Palisades fire, which broke out on January 7 and spread quickly across Los Angeles, damaging thousands of acres and displacing many people. The 38-year-old actress, known for her role in Schitt’s Creek, shared her sorrow over the loss of her “sweet home” but reassured her followers that she and her family were safe.

In her emotional message, Levy described the deep ache she felt, wishing for one more moment of normalcy in her home: “Oh, my sweet home. My heart so deeply aches. What I would give to hear the key slide in the front door one more time or the baby gate click behind me as I bring the laundry upstairs,” she wrote.

She reflected on the small, meaningful moments that made the house feel like home: “To hear the garbage truck outside every Tuesday and watch James run to the window to watch. To smell the eucalyptus and the roses and the rosemary. To see the fog roll in in the early morning or the hawks soaring above the yard… To run into friends daily because it was that small a town.” Levy also shared how special it was to raise her two-year-old son, James Eugene Outerbridge, in such a peaceful, idyllic setting, far from the bustle of Los Angeles.

Levy expressed gratitude for the safety of her family and noted that despite the tragedy, the experience had taught her to truly appreciate every moment. “Our whole future ahead, planned in our little kitchen. Luckily, we are all safe, and if this has taught me nothing else, it’s to appreciate every last detail of your life,” she said. She ended her post with hope for the future, writing, “I know we’ll be back, and the Palisades will be more vibrant and lush and full of life than ever. We’ll wait until then.”

The home, which Levy bought in 2006 for $3.9 million, was a two-story property with three bedrooms, three bathrooms, and over 2,000 square feet of space. It was a place that meant so much to her and her family, and she remains hopeful that, though they must rebuild, they will return to a more thriving community.
