Selena Gomez fans are calling out the ‘Saved by the Bell’ reboot for appearing to mention Selena’s kidney transplant

#RespectSelenaGomez was trending on Twitter, on Saturday as fans rebuke Peacock’s new “Saved by the Bell” reboot over references to the actor and singer’s kidney transplant. Gomez first opened up about her kidney transplant in 2017, when she revealed that she underwent surgery after lupus, an an autoimmune disease, impaired her kidneys. Gomez’s best friend Francia was Selena’s donor. A representative for the show apologised via email “We apologize. It was never our intention to make light of Selena’s health.”
