Serum Institute files 100 crore case against man demanding 5 crore for side effect

A 40- year old man from Chennai who volunteered to participate in the third phase COVID-19 vaccine trials has claimed Rs. 5 crore saying he faced neurological breakdown after taking the dose. The Serum Institute of India defends itself by saying that this claim is “Malicious” and the volunteer was informed that the complications he suffered were unrelated to the vaccine trial. The institute has mentioned that it would seek at least 100 crore for defamation of the company.
