The Subject Expert Committee (SEC) on Friday gave approval to Covidshied developed by University of Oxford and AstraZeneca under certain conditions. India will now get its first vaccine against the novel coronavirus which has dug a grave for over 1.5 lakh Indians. The UK has approved the use of this vaccination for its public. Granting Serum Institute of India’s application, SEC recommended CDSCO to grant approval to Covidshied despite the absence of completing phase ⅔ trails in India.
