Serum Institute has dispatched the first batch of Covishield vaccines from its Pune based facility in 3 temperature controlled trucks in the wee hours of Jan 12, 2021. The trucks left for Pune airport as all the dispatch work will be done by the Pune airport and will reach its fixed destination.
According to the report, 478 boxes were loaded in 3 trucks, with each box weighing 32 kgs. These vaccines will reach Delhi, Ahmadabad, Kolkata, Chennai, Bengaluru, Karnal, Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Guwahati, Lucknow, Chandigarh and Bhubaneswar through 8 commercial flights.
