Seven BJP leaders joins TMC party on Monday

Following, TMC leader Mukul Roy’s resignation from the Bharatiya Janata Party two weeks past, its Alipurduar district President Ganga Prasad Sharma along with seven other leaders left BJP to join the Trinamool Congress Party on Monday. Mukul Roy on joining TMC for the second time claimed that the latest switches from the BJP party would mark the ‘beginning of the saffron party’s end’ in the state.

Apart from Ganga Prasad Sharma, other leaders who are the new members of the TMC party include BJP’s former district general secretary, secretary, vice-president, and convener along with former deputy convener of Kalchini block.

Mukul Roy while addressing a press conference at the Trinamool Bhawan notified that the BJP’s rise in the state commenced with the Lok Sabha polls in the year 2019. He too stated that in that poll BJP won several seats in North Bengal and therefore there downfall too will also begin from that particular region. He further exclaimed that this is just the glimpse of what lies ahead and marked that the BJP’s fall in the state is imminent.

Ganga Prasad Sharma on his joining said, “Resentment against BJP was there before the election when the central and the state BJP leadership never bothered to consult us before fielding the candidates. We felt insulted.” He further expressed that they did not leave the party at the time of the election as they would be called the traitor then.

Sharma exclaimed that Manoj Tigga, the senior BJP leader should have been given the post when asked if Suvendu Adhikari would have stayed with the BJP and if he had not been designated as Leader of Opposition.
