Several cities in India faces Google meet outage

Since the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic, students got accustomed with online classes. Professionals too held meetings through video conferences. Google meet is one such platform where the institutions conduct its online classes and professionals hold their meetings. On Saturday, according to several users reports this video conferencing platform went down for its users in India. The users were unable to operate the platform since morning.

As per Down Detector report, the Google meet outage is across serval cities in India. The outage started almost around 7:00am in the morning. Around 9:00 am, it has seen a spike among users and is yet high. As per data’s the most reported problem was 64 percent of the users were unable to join a meeting while 19 percent were unable to login. Remaining 16 percent were unable to start a meeting. Several users from various parts of the country have reported about the issue through their social media platforms.

 

From classes being taken place in home to work from home, Google meet emerged as an important platform for every individual. As a result, this turned to be a widespread issue across the country. Cities like Delhi, Jaipur, Lucknow, Mumbai, Kolkata and Bangalore are experiencing the highest number of Google Meet issues. Some users also complained about getting ejected immediately after they joined a meeting, while in some other cases the audio and video were not working.
