Several Delhi metro gates closed as farmers’ observe “Chakka Jam”

The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has shut the entry-exit gates at various metro stations, especially in north and central Delhi, as the farmers are conducting a three-hour nation wide “chakka jam” (road block) .

The entry exit gates of Mandi House, ITO, Delhi Gate, Vishwavidyalaya, Lal Quila, Jama Masjid, Janpath, Central Secretariat, Khan Market and Nehru Place are closed as a as a prudent step because of the protests against the new farming laws.

Additional security has been sent and barricades have been reinforced, which may conceivably prompt gridlock on many key Delhi streets. Broad measures have been attempted at the Ghazipur line point with even water cannon vehicles positioned.

The Red Fort territory, the greatest purpose of aggravation on Republic Day, has gotten specific protection today.
