Some states have prohibited all New Year celebrations welcoming 2021 within India due to several reasons including the new COVID-19 strain due to which, the entire world was in panic. Even though the new strain is not found in India yet, the government wants to remain cautious. These states have restricted celebrations fort he new years this year: Maharashtra, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Rajasthan, and Uttarakhand. The rest of the states are also likely to step into this decision.
