Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan hug each other at Maharashtra CM’s oath ceremony

The biggest Bollywood celebs have come to witness Devendra Fadnavis, the incoming chief minister of Maharashtra, take his oath of office. Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan were also present.

As they greeted one another at the event, the actors in black, formal suits were seen giving each other a warm embrace on a live video feed. Pooja Dadlani, Shah Rukh’s manager, was also present. Madhuri Dixit, Anant and Radhika Ambani, Mukesh Ambani, Ranveer Singh, Ranbir Kapoor, and Sachin Tendulkar were also in attendance.

Devendra Fadnavis, the Maharashtra chief minister-designate, said prayers at Mumbai’s Shree Mumbadevi and Shree Siddhivinayak temples earlier today. On Thursday, Devendra Fadnavis will take the oath of office as Maharashtra’s chief minister in Mumbai’s Azad Maidan.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to attend the ceremony and witness the swearing-in of two deputy chief ministers: Ajit Pawar of the NCP and Eknath Shinde of the Shiv Sena. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led Mahayuti alliance won a resounding victory with 235 seats in the Maharashtra Assembly Election 2024.

With 132 seats, the BJP became the single-largest party, marking a major turning point in the election. Both the Nationalist Congress Party and the Shiv Sena saw significant increases, gaining 41 and 57 seats, respectively.

A significant blow to the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) was caused by the Congress gaining only 16 seats. The Shiv Sena (UBT), its coalition partner, took home 20 seats, while the NCP (Sharad Pawar faction) only managed to claim 10.

Salman Khan showed up at a Mumbai voting station to vote in the Maharashtra Assembly elections last month under heavy security. The celebrity was spotted wearing trousers, a cap, and a grey t-shirt. Salim Khan, the father of Bollywood star Salman Khan, also voted.

Surrounded by a group of bodyguards, the legendary screenwriter headed to the polling station on Wednesday afternoon with his wife, Salma Khan. Voting was done by superstar Shah Rukh Khan, his wife Gauri Khan, daughter Suhana Khan, and son Aryan Khan. King Khan wore a beanie cap, trousers, and a white shirt. Under strict protection, he came to vote.
