Shah Rukh Khan ‘begs’ Mani Ratnam for a film, director says ‘I’ll do when he buys a plane’

Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan is riding high after the success of his three movies, ‘Pathaan’, ‘Jawan’, and ‘Dunki’, which were released in 2023. The superstar lately attended an event and requested Mani Ratnam to work with him again.

Shah Rukh, who previously worked with Mani Ratnam on “Dil Se,” begged him for a movie during a CNN-News18 event. He said, “It’s all come out in the open now.

He added, “I’m requesting you – I’m begging you – I’m telling you every time! Do a film with me, I swear, I will dance on top of a plane on Chhaiya Chhaiya, if you’d tell me.”

In response, Mani Ratnam said that he will do a movie with SRK when he buys a plane. To this, the superstar said, “Mani, the way my films are going…this plane is not far away. I’m coming!” SRK even joked with Mani Ratnam when the event was coming to an end, “Thank you, Mani Sir, for the film! March, I’ll be there, sir. Morning shift, 2 pm.”

In the meantime, although Pathaan and Jawan broke box office records, ‘Dunki’ performed decently. The film was his first collaboration with Rajkumar Hirani and featured Vicky Kaushal and Taapsee Pannu in key roles. The film competed with Prabhas’s ‘Salaar’ at the box office.
