Shah Rukh Khan’s immense global popularity seems to be benefiting not just him but also those who resemble him. One of the most well-known among them is Ibrahim Qadri, a social media personality with 2.4 million Instagram followers, who recently spoke about his journey as the superstar’s lookalike and how it has turned into a full-time career.
In a recent interview with The Lallantop, Ibrahim shared that he now earns between ₹1.5 lakh and ₹5 lakh per event, depending on the occasion. He admitted that his rates are possibly the highest among all Shah Rukh Khan lookalikes. “Jitne bhi lookalikes hain unko bhi fayda hota hai. Kyunki main jab koi kaam chhodta hoon na, jitna kaam chhodta hoon, usme se kitne SRK ke lookalikes ka kaam chal jaata hai,” he explained, noting that the demand for him has even helped others in the same profession find work.
However, Ibrahim revealed that things weren’t always easy. In his early days, he would perform at events without pay or face delays in getting his dues. Now that his popularity has grown, he says people assume he earns a fortune and charge him extra for services. “When I go shopping, people recognize me and think I make a lot of money, so they charge me double,” he said humorously, adding that fame brings both perks and drawbacks.
In an earlier interview, Ibrahim mentioned that his resemblance to Shah Rukh Khan became more pronounced after he started working on his physique, hairstyle, and mannerisms following the release of Raees. “I would resemble Shah Rukh sir only 10 percent, but now I would say it’s 30 percent,” he said, emphasizing that he continues to refine his craft.
As Shah Rukh Khan recently made headlines for becoming India’s first billionaire actor with a net worth of over ₹12,000 crore, his doppelganger Ibrahim Qadri seems to be making his own mark one event at a time.
