Shah Rukh Khan’s Meer Foundation sends relief kits to flood-hit families in Punjab

Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan’s Meer Foundation has extended support to 1,500 families affected by the devastating Punjab floods, providing essential relief kits across several districts.

Shah Rukh Khan has stepped forward to help Punjab as the state battles one of its worst flood disasters in decades. Triggered by heavy rainfall in Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir, the swelling of rivers Sutlej, Beas and Ravi, along with seasonal rivulets, left several districts submerged and thousands of families displaced.

To aid rehabilitation, Shah Rukh’s Meer Foundation partnered with local NGOs and distributed relief kits to 1,500 households in Amritsar, Patiala, Fazilka and Ferozepur. According to the foundation’s statement, the kits contained medicines, hygiene products, mosquito nets, tarpaulin sheets, folding beds, cotton mattresses and food supplies, aiming to address immediate health, safety and shelter needs.

The initiative focuses not only on emergency aid but also on helping affected families rebuild their lives with dignity. Highlighting the drive, the organisation said it was committed to ensuring that essential resources reached those who needed them most during this humanitarian crisis.

Just days earlier, Shah Rukh had expressed his solidarity on social media. Posting on X, the 59-year-old actor wrote, “My heart goes out to those in Punjab impacted by these devastating floods. Sending prayers and strength… The spirit of Punjab shall never break… may God bless them all.”With this effort, Shah Rukh Khan once again used his platform and resources to stand by communities in distress, continuing the philanthropic vision of his Meer Foundation.
