Shaheer Sheikh to portray Manav in ‘Pavitra Rishta 2.0’

The most popular daily soap of Indian Television with almost 1500 episode ‘ ‘Pavitra Rishta’ is all set to make a come back with a fresh season. It brought Sushant Singh Rajput a household name and launched Ankita Lokhande to the showbiz. The late actor portrayed the personality of Manav, a car mechanic, who falls in love with Ankita’s role Archana. The Zee TV family romantic drama made Sushant and Ankita heart of the nation, but in 2011, the late actor decided to leave the show and eventually established his career as an actor in the Hindi film industry. It was actor Hiten Tejwani who held forward the character from there for 3 years, before the series finally went off air in 2014.

It has been seven years since then and now, Pinkvilla has exclusively discovered that a 2.0 edition of Pavitra Rishta finally is on the way as the vision of the show is locked and the producer, Ekta Kapoor has now walked on to casting of the show. “Shaheer Sheikh has come on board Pavitra Rishta 2.0 to portray the iconic character of Manav. Ankita will be back to play Archana again after 7 long years. The other cast members will be locked soon,” revealed a source close to the development to Pinkvilla.

It was in July last year that Ekta and Ankita agreed to spin a sequel to Pavitra Rishta, and it took more than a year for them to fasten the script that confirms to be a fitting follow up to the heritage of this daily soap. It is noted to be a tribute by Ekta and Ankita to Sushant’s legacy. The show will launch and stream on OTT platform.

There is still no official announcements made by the makers or actors. Shaheer Sheikh is a famous personality of Indian Television, he is also geared up to release the third instalment of his very popular family daily soap drama ‘Kuch Rang Pyaar ke Aise Bhi’ alongside Erica Fernandez and Supriya Pilgaonkar.
